As of recently many long challenges that require high time investment (eg. PPM, PPMD, TPPM, the hexa challenges) have been added to the server, leading to an increase of players attempting long challenges. For me this has highlighted limitations with the current challenge system that could be improved:
- the inability to suspend a challenge midway through a map. If it was possible, being able to /ch suspend from mid-map checkpoints and then return to that checkpoint upon running /ch resume would be great especially for challenges involving long parkour maps. It is typically unanticipated for long challenges to be completed in one sitting, but the inability to /ch suspend without fully completing whatever multi-checkpoint map you're on forces players into committing lots of time into a map when they may choose to do something else on the server instead.
- the inability to run multiple challenges at the same time. Whilst completing a challenge, even if you suspend it, you aren't able to start another challenge without abandoning or finishing your current one. For long challenges which involve many difficult maps like PPMD and TPPM (involving maps like Magic Tower which is considered one of the hardest maps on the entire server) this feels very limiting as players may want to choose to do shorter challenges for fun (eg. soul links with their friends or really anything else) but cannot because they are 200 maps into PPMD and cannot feasibly abandon their progress.
It could be argued these limitations are a part of the actual difficulty associated with these challenges themselves as they are meant to be true 'gauntlets' testing the top players' skill, however I think personally it would just improve quality of life of playing these challenges for the vast majority of people if these changes were implemented.
Of course, there may be technical limitations / difficulties hindering this as well so if that's the case unfortunate and I'll just firm the L ig
