The game has begun.
It seems hard to believe that this was once a peaceful nation. During the Golden Age of Minr, none of this bloodshed existed. Children grew up and prepared to work their way through the hierarchy- all being raised as unassuming Whities, but aspiring to build among the Greens one day. The communities were ruled by a government known as the Admins. They maintained the laws of Minr, designed the process for ascension through society, and even harnessed the powers of the Mojang gods to reshape the world. For years, the system worked as intended.
The beginning of the end happened in March of last year. A deadly plague swept through the world, first carried by zombies and then spread between humans. As other nations were overrun, many of their citizens fled to the relative safety of Minr. Though we were mostly successful in keeping out the plague, the sudden population boom caused social upheaval. As more and more people completed the Hardcore trials, our leaders struggled to control the tidal wave of new Greens, threatening the delicate power structure. This created a rift among the Admins, who disagreed about how to handle their new reality.
A radical coalition of Admins emerged, led by an entity known only as “Machete.” They proposed the most drastic solution to the problem- a systematic elimination of lower-ranked people. Most of their peers were horrified and shut down the idea; however, as the situation became increasingly unstable, more and more were swayed to this ideology. It all culminated in the Orange Purge, in which AJ DJ, the mighty leader of the Admins, was deposed by Machete along with all of AJ’s followers. From that point on, the few Admins that were willing to speak out against the new regime soon disappeared, never to be seen again.
We have been fighting for survival ever since that day. We- the Greens- formed an uneasy alliance with the Blues and Whities of Minr, setting aside our differences for our common goal. And yet, the tyrannical Admins have infiltrated our ranks. They report to Machete in secret. They seek to kill us after sunset. But most importantly, they are masters of deception, and will do anything to pit us against each other. We cannot let them win.
GENERAL RULES
SETUP
This is a general reference point for common roles in forum mafia, not a setup guide. Some of these roles may not be used, and some may be used more than once or with modifications. In addition, just because a role doesn’t appear here doesn’t mean it won’t be in the round. Read it if you want to.
Bulletproof: Can survive a certain amount of kill attempts.
Cop: Can investigate a player’s alignment at night.
Tracker: Can find out who their target visited (used an ability on) that night. This includes the mafia’s factional kill, if their target is the one carrying it out.
Many of these roles are not alignment-specific and may show up as town, mafia, or both within the same setup.
IMPORTANT: If we get an extreme amount of signups (30+?), I will probably split this game into two smaller servers, each running the same setup. I’ve talked with Hex to make sure this is acceptable.
Signups will be open until we reach 42 players or until June 4th at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

MINR MAFIA XXVI - GREEN DAWN
GENERAL RULES
- You need a Discord account for this game. It will take place on a new server.
- Play to your win condition. You do not have to be alive to win, but all of your actions should try to benefit your team. Acting at the expense of yourself or a team member is allowed if it’s meant to help your team in the long run.
- As Minr Mafia games tend to last for weeks, be prepared to contribute a reasonable amount for an extended time if you sign up. If you go inactive for a very long time or let me know that you can’t play anymore, I will try to find a replacement for you. Spectators can’t replace in for obvious reasons.
- Don’t share screenshots from me or copy messages from me. You can paraphrase.
- Don’t talk in public channels if you’re dead. You can say a quick goodbye, but there should be nothing that could contribute to the game.
- Don’t be petty. This ties back into playing to your win condition; you would vote someone off because you think it’ll help you, not because they killed you last round.
- Mafia is based on social conflict and can get heated sometimes. I get it. But remember that it’s just a game and don’t cross the line into making it toxic or personal.
- Private messaging is not allowed in this round, unless it's a chat set up by me. Keep all other gameplay chat in public channels on the Discord server.
SETUP
- For newer players, this is a game of the uninformed majority (Town) versus the informed minority (Mafia). Mafia members will pretend to be Town and try to undermine it from within, while Town members try to deduce who is lying to them and vote them out. Along with their alignment, each player is assigned a specific role that tells them what special abilities they may have. You do not have to reveal this information, and in fact it’s often beneficial not to.
- For this game, "Town" will be interchangeable with "Greens" or "Members," while "Mafia" will be interchangeable with "Admins" or "Staff."
- Days will last 2-3 real-life days, depending on the player count and how far along the game is. Nights will last one real day.
- Every one of you will have a special ability. Active abilities (used voluntarily by the player) will have a limited amount of uses.
- This game uses a Must Lynch mechanic. Someone will be voted off every day, using the system described below.
- Nomination phase (first 24-48 hours of the day). Everyone will start the day with a vote against themselves; as voting for no one is impossible, this can only be changed by voting for another player. At the end of this phase, the 2-3 players with the most votes will be put on trial.
- Trial phase (last 24 hours). The players must now vote to lynch one of the top choices. Votes will carry over from the nomination phase unless changed by the voting player.
- In case of a tie in either phase, the victim will be chosen by the first applicable tiebreaker on this list:
- Most votes.
- (If a vote on a leading player caused a tie) Longest time since reaching the most votes.
- (If an unvote on a leading player caused a tie) Most recently ahead in the vote.
- (If there were never votes on enough players) Longest time since talking in a public channel.
- Random number generator.
- Night phase (24 hours). All players can use their abilities if they’re willing and able to. The mafia will choose a player to carry out the factional kill. The server will remain open for discussion at night; however, the rules against private communication remain the same. All actions will take effect at the end of the night phase, and your action will still go through if you die. The cycle then repeats, starting with the next day’s Nomination phase.
- Endgame: The game ends if one of these things happens.
- All anti-town roles are eliminated.
- The mafia has eliminated all opposition, or nothing can stop this from happening. Usually this means that they make up at least half of the players and no town role can stop them from voting off and killing everyone unopposed.
- Role Cop: Can investigate a player’s role and ability, but not necessarily alignment.
- Bodyguard: Can guard another player and will die in their place if the target is attacked.
- Masons: Neighbors that are confirmed as town to each other.
Tracker: Can find out who their target visited (used an ability on) that night. This includes the mafia’s factional kill, if their target is the one carrying it out.
- Watcher: The reverse of Tracker. Can find out who their target was visited by that night. This, again, includes the factional kill.
