A great game, set in the world of Aperture Science.

PLOT:

(Portal 1)

The player wakes up from cryostatis bed and has to solve a varity of chambers using a Portal gun that shoots two portals, blue and orange. The player has to complete 19 chambers and eventually --------------- the mad AI in charge of Aperture.

(Portal 2)

The player wakes from yet ANOTHER cryo sleep bed to be given a container ride with ANOTHER AI.
THen the player does some more test chambers and finds out alot of backstory to Aperture.

That is the best I can give you with out spoilers. Very good games, won numerous awards.

GO PLAY THEM.

I remember the intenseness the first portal was

its scarier than any horror game when you play it for the first time

I've essentially plowed through most of the game (everything from the 4th chamber onwards) in one sitting, and i was expecting an enemy or at least some human to show up somewhere, but nope.

and then the ending which is literally just perfect.

I by far prefer the first portal above the second, at least in singleplayer, because some of the stuff in p2 was just really dumb (the whole cave johnson part essentially turned into a big "search for the portal surface" game after the first two chambers).

the ending was still great tho

the multiplayer is cool but kinda eh because i to this day havent found a way to save your game because each time me and my friend restarted we had to start all over which sux

The thing with Cave Johnson was that you weren't really supposed to be looking for those really annoying white walls; the game was trying to really get the backstory into you. Did you see all those references to Half-Life and the competitive nature between Black Mesa and Aperture? Did you pick up the Greek Mythology between Chell, GLaDOS and Wheatley. That was the entire point from old Aperture apart from the Gels.

Well yeah but the biggest part of why I like the portal games is bc of the innovative and fun gameplay

and those puzzles are just not even worth it

but yes the dialogue is priceless indeed.
