When you do /spawn and /kill right after it, your speed stays on for 30 more seconds when you return to your checkpoint. You can abuse this for maps, not sure if it works for HC.

Just to clarify, the cause of this trigger is the block that players spawn on. When players do /spawn, it gives speed to the player 5 seconds later after they touched the block underneath them. So if players are fast enough, they can quickly do /spawn, then /kill and they'll spawn at their checkpoint with the effect. It's not that /kill doesn't clear all effects, it's the timer that gives speed afterwards.

Unfortunately, I don't know the source of this and cannot resolve this issue. If someone could just make the spawn block give regular speed without any timer, then that would be great.
