I'm just gonna say right now that double elimination is the way to go, especially because there doesn't really appear to be a time frame for completion. It allows for someone to have a bad day and not lose because of it, and it makes things much more interesting.

I prefer single elimination because it allows upsets. If someone can't perform well, bad luck :p

Single elimination is also faster and more straightforward. But don't worry, knockout stages will be Bo3 up to the finals where it's Bo5.

For greenies+ who would like to practice on the tournament map, there is a warp there at /warp r, look for the "checkered flag" behind the bedrock wall. Creds to Sky btw :p

Enjoy,
HC

HC12345 is the tournament map different from the regular great race map? I thought it was going to be on the great race map.

They are exactly the same, except that the start is different.

The copied version has two starting pads that have to be activated at the same time to start a countdown and open the doors soon after.

If hc or an admin could add temporarily buttons to each door, People can practise there on their own as well, depending what they want. The buttons shouldnt interfere with the redstone. Didnt think of that at the Time being

Over the months Minr has hosted many tournaments, from Ninja Warrior to The Amazing Race, and now it's time for more new stuff! Minr revolves around our great community and our great user creations, and there is nothing better than giving them some recognition. So, I'm going to kick off the map event series with the TGR Tournament! The Great Race was created by one of Minr's most dedicated mapmakers, PacksofPages, and is special for it's "race" format, instead of just a normal parkour map.

In this competition, players will get matched one-on-one to race it out on this map. The tournament format will be round robins followed by knockout stages.

Event Times
Instead of the usual one-day formats we have in events like Ninja Warrior, the TGR tournament will take place over a few weeks, mainly depending on the amount of sign-ups. This time, we give you guys the chance to choose the time for your event. When you get matched up with someone, you two will decide on the time you would like to race. This will happen until the bracket stage, where times will most likely be fixed.

Either way, the first matches will start on Saturday, August 16th 2014.

There's more info to come in this post, but still, sign up here if you wish! Players of all ranks are welcome!

EDIT: Update 1 out about Event Times :p
I just got back to the server. As a new start, Im in. Get ready fellas.
