What is the most absurd fact you have ever heard of, whether in Minecraft, on the internet or in real life?

My best one is this:

Every year, 58 CENTURIES of video is uploaded to YouTube.

This is a state-specific one.

In the state of Virginia, you can legally buy alcohol on the day before your 21st birthday.

http://www.abc.virginia.gov/licensing/abcfaq1.htm
The Attorney General's Office has opined that a person attains his/her next year of age on the day prior to his/her birthday.
Basicly, the day you were born you're "one day" old, even though you're not 24 hours old. So if you follow that, all the way until the day before you're 21st birthday, you've completed 21 years of your life.

In some cultures, you are born already 1 years old.

Chico, CA has two very...shall we say interesting laws that quzlify for this thread:

Bowling on the sidewalk is illegal. (The actual wording of the law prohibits playing of any games on the sidewalk, but that correct interpretation is fun)

Detonating a nuclear device within the city limits results in a $500 fine. (And just who will be issuing and collecting said fine?)

In Canada when your released from prison, you are to be given $2 and a horse. It's not observed but still on the books.
Until 5 years ago in Alberta, you were also to be given a handgun with ammo. Being classed as a restricted firearm you need a restricted
firearm permit that requiers that you never been convicted of an imprisonable offence.

As someone who frequently plays card games:

If every star in our galaxy had a trillion planets, each with a trillion people on them with a trillion packs of cards, and they all shuffled the cards at 1000 times per second and they'd been doing that since the big bang, they'd only just have started to get identical shuffles.

Try this,

Every five seconds a person dies of malaria,

Every year over five thousand people can die from hunger

Those are really depressing and are yet a crisp lesson to us, but the real question is

Why do we not share what we have to those who need it most?

Humans in generally are intrinsically stupid, vain, and greedy. Everyone will jump onto the "somebody do something" bandwagon very easily, but very few will take it upon themselves to actually act because it is the right thing to do. That, and the fact that on e you hit a certain age you tend to constantly have one thing always on your mind, and it sure as hell isn't altruism.

Thank you, Mr. Hobbes, for that fascinating discourse on the terrible nature of humans :p

Some people call me cynical when I start talking philosophically on human nature, but we have a long and terrible history that speaks volumes. On the bright side, there are always a relative handful of people willing to stand up and take action because they know humanity is capable of just as much good given the right motivation.

On topic though, Samuel Langhorne Clemens (AKA Mark Twain) was born shortly after Halley's comet passed into view and correctly predicted that he would "go out with it", dying the day after its next pass through.

As long as we're talking about psych here, Sren isn't wrong. Even in small groups you can see that. I'd say that's more realistic than not. If he was cynical I think it'd probably be closer to what he said without the "but there are a few daises in this batch of weeds"

Anyhow for an absurd fact:
You are effectively a brain piloting a sweet mobile that if you crash can kill ya. Pretty similar to a car
